Best Things to Do in the Gold Coast, Australia

Everybody who has seen the wonderful movie Peter Pan, admired the fabulous scenes in Neverland. The truth is, that place is real and it is actually Gold Coast, Australia. The film was made there and the landscape in it is the landscape of Queensland ( When you visit this place you realize why the film makers choose it for their movie. However, Gold Coast is not just a place that is lovely to look at. There are tons of interesting things to do there and here are some of them.

Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk


Do not imagine a long walk during which you watch your every step, because this is something far more interesting and completely different. This is a walk that lasts no longer than 45 minutes. It is not longer than 1.5km. You start it and end it at the Eco centre. But, what is absolutely amazing about it is that you will get a completely new experience of the forest. You will walk on the floor tiles, but also across the bridges, cantilever and platforms made from steel, high above the rainforest. This gives you unbelievable experience of seeing the rainforest from above.

Glow Worm Tours


Nobody really likes worms that much. However, that changes once you experience glow worm tours. There are two caves in the Tamborine Mountains that are connected by tunnels. The cave ornaments are interesting on their own, but the glowing worms inside those caves will amaze you.

Whale Watching


Humpback whales live near the Gold Coast and they do not mind you watching them as they splash and play in their natural environment. You just need to pick a boat or a tour operator that will take you to the best spot for enjoying this view. It is an unforgettable experience.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary


This is a perfect idea for a family day. You and your children will be able to see kangaroos, koalas and many more animals from close. Moreover, birds will eat from your hand and even land on you. Kids enjoy riding the train through the sanctuary and they can even be inspired by watching the vets doing their work.

Surfers Paradise


It is impossible to visit Gold Coast without paying a visit to the Surfers Paradise. Even if you do not surf, this is the place to learn it. The more seasoned and skilled surfers come here from all over the world to ride the waves. And if you are a beginner, professionals say that stand up paddle boards are a good idea to start with.

Sea World

Polar bears in Australia? It is all possible if you visit the Sea World. Not only polar bears, but penguins, as well, found their home in this place. They live in the Sea World with dolphins, sea lions and similar wonderful creatures. You can watch them enjoy their time swimming, or even performing for you. Either way, it is a fun and exciting thing to do.

Skypoint Climb


Near the Surfers Paradise is the famous Q1 building. On the top of it is the Skypoint Observation Deck. Once you are up there, you are observing the surroundings from over 250m above the ground level. You get the view of beaches, cityscape and so much more. If you are lucky, you might even catch a sight of whales migrating.

Golden Coast has a lot to offer to those that decide to visit it. The majority of activities that you can enjoy here have something to do with the amazing nature and wildlife. Therefore, this is a perfect destination for those that love outdoors and consider nature the ultimate beauty.
