Men’s Outfit Essential: (Basic) T-Shirts

So over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had a little issue — I COULDN’T FIND ANY BASIC SHIRTS IN MY CLOSET ANYMORE. I know, right?! Madness.

And who wants a basic t-shirt!?

Well.. I assure you, the basic the better 🙂 – from my perspective!

I mean, you can wear a shirt regardless of your body type or age. Oh.. and that basic shirt will get you that chick you keep winking at. Women say that a nice fitting t-shirt is one of the things that makes you even more attractive.

How do you choose your T-shirt?

Well, firstly and obviously — look at yourself and then choose the most appropriate size 🙂 Make sure it’s not too baggy or too small. You don’t want to look like you’re swimming in it but you don’t wanna look like a stuffed sausage either. Go for medium. But as I said — maybe if you have a good build and go to the gym a lot, you can pull a tighter version of it as well.

Length – Well, it depends on the style that you have but as we are talking about a basic sharp looking shirt — it should not hit higher than your hips 🙂 You don’t want to make a basic shirt look like a ‘view to your butt crack’ and neither make it look like a nighty.

Shape – Just make sure that its shape follows your body shape — make sure the shoulder seams are exactly aligned.

V-neck – All of the brands are different in this case.. but make sure it doesn’t hit below 3 inches from the collarbone line.

Color – I usually wear dark colored trousers so my go to options on shirts are — white, black, navy or gray. Gray is also a little bit tricky because, phew, sweat is really visible and sometimes you can’t help it if it’s really hot outside.

Over the past couple of days I’ve been thinking of getting a gray shirt but trashed, you know, those with ‘holes in it’ how I like to call them, haha!

How To Wear It?

Don’t tuck it. Please. (This depends on a few factors but if it’s for the sake of your out and about outfit, don’t tuck it).

But overall, don’t put lots of effort on this side because if you choose the right one, FO SHO you’re looking sharp. Classic navy shirt with a pair of jeans and botos — Black shirt and black trousers and some Nikes (I look like I workout when I don’t lol) — Orrr.. a jacket/cardigan over your shirt.

You’re gonna get a ton of compliments/looks.

Now, going back to my question — Should I or would you get a trashed shirt?
