Exposing your skin to sunlight for too long, however beneficial and healthy sunlight may be, will lead to cracked and dehydrated skin, making you look old, tired, and wrinkly. You should exercise moderate sunbathing along with frequent and detailed moisturizing sessions that will allow you will rejuvenate your skin, bring back its healthy glare and silky vibrancy, and repair any damage, avoiding long-term problems.
Apply proper protection
There are two major safety prerequisites you need to have in check before leaving the house during the summer months: you need to protect against sun and insects. With the deterioration of the ozone layer, the rays of sunlight that give life to all living things become hazardous to our health and can create numerous problems. That is why it is important to always apply a layer of sunblock before you leave the house.
Moreover, summertime is the period when everything comes to life, including disease-carrying insects. Remember to always have a natural mosquito repellent at hand when going outside and especially when you head on an adventure into the great outdoors.
Drink more water
I couldn’t stress this enough – you need to drink more water! Summertime is the perfect time to fall prey to dehydration, which not only leads to numerous health problems, but also consequently prompts various skin conditions to develop. If not supplied with adequate amounts of water, your skin will crack, loose its elasticity and break out in inflammations as well as blackheads.
If you think about your body consisting of more than 70% water, you will understand the importance of regular rehydration, so make sure you’re drinking at least 3L of water daily.
Don’t be afraid to bask in the sun
I don’t want you to get the wrong impression here, the Sun is not your enemy and you should definitely go out and bask in its healthful rays, just do it modestly. As the sun tends to roll in quite aggressively after the winter period, you want to gradually start exposing your skin to its rays and avoid spending more than 15 minutes under direct sunlight until your skin gets used to the heat.
